First wind powered town

It depends how you define the words "first" and "town" but Rock Port, a town in Missouri, has become the first town to generate more power by wind than it consumes. It has a wind farm generating up to 16 Mega Watt Hours annually, which exceeds the 13 MWh that the town consumes. What's left over is bought by the local utility company. Now Rock Port only has 1,395 inhabitants (2000 census), so I think its more like a large village, but good job anyhow.
