The Ultimate Green Home

A couple from Wiltshire have moved to a remote Scottish island called Unst. They have spent £210,000 to build themselves a house that is totally self-sufficient. Despite being as far North as Greenland, and regularly experiencing winds of 100mph+, this house generates and stores its own energy via a flow battery/fuel cell. In addition, an electric vehicle is used for transportation and, as they generate their own energy in order for the vehicle to recharge, the need for fossil fuels is removed. Food is grown in high-tech greenhouses using a hydroponic growing medium and LEDs which use only a small amount of energy to manipulate the plants and extend the growing period. This is surely a candidate for the title of the Ultimate Green Home?
