Green Baby

I attended a presentation by Jill Barker, the founder of Green Baby last night. It was a fascinating account of how she part chose and part fell into the position of starting up her business. It all started with her desire to find alternatives to disposable nappies for her child. From there it has grown and now she has four shops (in London only at the moment) and a thriving internet business.

My main takeaway? Get your trade mark registrations done properly. Arranging protection of your name globally for all categories is very expensive but will save you lots of pain as your business grows.

Its great to see that a business can actively promote an ethical angle, be successful, and yet be run by a really friendly, down to earth person.
